It's Spring... Life Update 001

I got up on the first day of spring and jumped out of bed for my pre-work walk and it was raining.

What a bloody let down!!  HELLO MELBOURNE.......

But before I had too much of an opportunity to feel down about it, the second day of Spring has truly delivered the goods.

Come October I'll be participating in 'The Bloody Long Walk'. As such training is in full swing.  Most day's I'm either out pounding the pavement or squeezing in a gym session.  Saturday's have been scheduled for 'bigger walks' as we prepare ourselves for 35kms.

In a bid to reach my fundraising goal I committed to 35, 5km walks before the big day.  Currently sitting at 19.  Having a goal sure does push you to go that extra mile.

I'm finding my biggest challenge is ensuring I'm adequately hydrated.  It's like a permanent roundabout, nailing my 2litres of water a day to drinking the bare minimum.

I've started using Arbonne's TrueSport Range to work on ensuring I'm getting adequate magnesium to look after my muscles and aid recovery.  But ultimately getting the job done is up to me.

September is a busy month, winding down the footy season with the kids and then praying with all my might that St Kilda Football Club can pull a rabbit out of its hat come next Saturday as we commence the AFL finals series.  Everyone always has a chuckle, but I can't help but always be the optimist.  #anythingispossible

I'm going to set myself some goals for September:

- Finish another crochet blanket for St Kilda Mums

- Complete my 35 x 5km walks

- Participate in another food service with The Big Umbrella

- Get my tax return done

- Seek 5 new clients in my Arbonne Business

- Finish my 17th book for the year 'How are you, really' by Jenna Kutcher

- Submit our passport applications

Phew that should keep me busy for a while!

I really do love setting goals, without them I tend to live a ground hog day with little purpose.

Anyway, for the most part the last few months definitely has a strong focus on fitness and wellbeing.  Not that is doesn't always drive me. But with my walk scheduled I really want to ramp up my commitment to my fitness, the food that I'm eating and take a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

I've been eager to shift a few kilos without much success this year.  It's easy to blame the 'pre menopause' movement but whilst I'm sure my age has a lot to do with my lack of ability to shift some weight I refuse to accept that it's beyond me.  One step in front of the other, one day at a time.

Thanks for joining me on the journey.
