New Year, full of opportunities... Life Update 003

If you haven't gathered yet, I bloody love a new year, a reset, opportunity to dare to dream.

I've got some huge goals I want to conquer this year, both personally and professionally, I'm really open to growth.

I've been working through the Christmas / New Year period which has had it's challenges as everyone else in the house has been on holidays free to do as they please.  But I remind myself that my opportunities will come.

January is always a time of celebrations as Lulu and I both celebrate our birthdays.  This year was extra special on two fronts.  All my siblings and partners came to town to catch up.  We are spread out across Australia so getting us all in the same room is no small feet.  But my brother managed to coordinate this when he was planning a trip to Melbourne.  So grateful!

Then the following day Lulu celebrated her 18th Birthday.  It's kinda crazy that I would be a mum to an adult.  How and when did that happen!!

We took our annual trip to Phillip Island mid-month to truly pause.  What I love about this getaway is the time to catch up with friends (we venture out with two other families) but I love the repetition of it.

We rehash the same meal plan each year, we all know our parts to play, and it means us mum's have less mental load to carry. It really does make a difference.

Over our stay we enjoyed:

  • Going to Smiths Beach
  • Pumping some Tunes
  • A spot of Shopping
  • Finska
  • Smashnet
  • Walks around the Newhaven, Cowes and San Remo
  • Reading
  • Watching the Australian Open
  • Card games and Poker nights
  • Ice Cream
So. Much. Fun!

January truly does feel like the holiday month, but I've been trying to put in the effort at the same time, loads of kilometres walked so far and Zander and I completed our first Park Run.

I definitely feel like I've found the balance.

What does January look like for you? Work or Play?
